UTON vz.75
UTON ARTOS
Special version of the UTON vz.75 knife with the ARTOS company logo from the early 1990s.
This UTON appeared in the early 1990s and was used on the first foreign missions of our soldiers in the former Yugoslavia. Notably, the handle is still made from the old hard rubber, even though the blade appears to have a newer grind.
The blade has the ARTOS logo etched on it. Artos was a Prague-based company that traded in military equipment and worked closely with the army. It no longer exists — both owners have died.
The Artos company had UTONs and sheaths made by Mikov with their own military-themed markings. On the sheaths one could see various types of stampings such as ARTOS, Logistics, General Staff, Military Police, UNPROFOR and others. The sheaths were mostly available in two colour variants — natural and black. They also differed in various colour combinations of rivets and KIN-DOTs. Some sheaths have the ARTOS company stamp on the back of the belt loop.
