BOMBUR – Commemorative Knife of the Czech Army Guard of Honour
The idea for a commemorative knife of the Czech Army Guard of Honour arose in the autumn of 2020 — a year that was significant in many respects. It marked exactly 400 years since Prague acquired its first historically documented commander: in 1620, Albrecht of Wallenstein took the role, if only briefly. For soldiers of the Guard of Honour and the Prague Garrison Command, this anniversary was an opportunity to create something tangible.
The commemorative BOMBUR knives issued to members of the Prague Garrison Command are individually numbered (three-digit). At first glance, every soldier will recognise the legendary UTON knife — the handle is identical, only the blade shape is more rounded. The blade is engraved on the left side with Guard of Honour AČR and on the right side with In Glory and in Death.
The blade is made from stainless steel 440A with a hardness of 55–57 HRC. The knife comes with a black leather sheath bearing the unit and maker insignia. Manufactured by Mikov, the knife can also be purchased without Guard of Honour markings for the civilian market on the Mikov website.
