Historical bayonets of ČSLA and ACR
Bayonet vz.58 – first variant (wooden handle)
Bayonet model 58 with a wooden handle – the first and earliest production variant in three versions.
The vz.58 bayonet was initially produced with a wooden handle. Later, after approximately two years, the handle was replaced with chipboard — to reduce production costs and simplify manufacturing.
1st variant – wooden handle with flat rivet heads
First variant of the vz.58 bayonet with a wooden handle. On one side it has flat rivet heads and on the other side a washer. This piece still has the original waxed paper in which the bayonet was stored.

2nd variant – wooden handle with standard rivets
Second variant of the vz.58 bayonet with a wooden handle, which has standard rivets as you know them from all subsequent models, and washers on both sides.

3rd variant – wooden handle with extended guard (VOP modification)
The third variant is interesting in that it is not standard series production, but was modified this way at the VOP plant. Particularly notable is the extended guard.
